Vimtag camera in the box

In December of last year, I wrote about my first experience with the Vimtag “Nanny Cam”.  Since that time, my mom has left me and moved to an independent living residency in Canada, thus removing my need for the camera.   Or so, I thought.

The Vimtag can be used in many other ways, as well.   Here are 5 of them.

Security:

I work from home and so, of course, I don’t like to be interrupted by unnecessary trips to answer the doorbell.  With the Vimtag, I can see who is at the door and decide whether or not I want to answer. I can also call the police, if necessary.

And when I’m away, because the Vimtag cam never stops recording images, I’m able to capture intruders or possible intruders.  If I’m expecting a package delivery, I can check to see if it’s left at the door so that I can run and retrieve it.

The camera requires an SD card to save the videos it records.  The SD card needs to be purchased separately as it is not included in the kit.

Pet Watch:

When the cat’s away, the mouse will play and when the owner is away, the dog will play… or chew… or dig…. or bark.  The Vimtag camera is an excellent way to check in on pets and because you can speak striaight through the camera, you could chat with your pet for a few moments to comfort them.

The camera can be accessed from the desktop, laptop, tablet or smart phone.  The Cat in the Fridge blog posted an excellent story about how they solved a litterbox mishap caper using the Vimtag camera – The Crepes Case: The Vimtag Camera and the Case of the Litterbox Leaver.

Caregiving Security

In our Facebook caregiver support group, one of our members shared a very disturbing article. It was about a caregiver who was hired from a website which lists caregivers for hire.  The caregiver had been caught on camera holding a pillow over a baby because it wouldn’t stop crying.

If you have caregivers in your home (for a child, an aging parent, a loved one), you NEED to have a security camera in place. Period. End-of-story.

With the Vimtag camera, you can check in on them whenever you want.  You’re also able to chat with the caregiver or the family member straight through the camera.

Vimtag cameras can also connect with other Vimtag cameras so they can be positioned in multiple areas. They cannot, however, be used outdoors.

And the best reason of all: Babies!

The Vimtag (Fujikam camera) is quite inexpensive.  At less than $100.00 on Amazon, it is affordable for most families and is an excellent addition for your home security.

This post is sponsored by Vimtag. I am being compensated for helping spread the word about the camera. I only share information I feel is relevant to our readers and I’m always completely honest about the experience, be it positive or negative.  Vimtag is not responsible for the content of this article.
